Exclusive trailer and pics: “GETTING SCHOOLED,” the “BREAKFAST CLUB” of horror!

While the 30th anniversary of the events of the teen classic THE BREAKFAST CLUB was celebrated this week, those who’d prefer the detention to become a bloodbath will be looking forward to the new movie GETTING SCHOOLED—as will Ron Jeremy fans. We’ve got an exclusive first look at the trailer and a few pics, along with words from the creators!

The synopsis is simple: “In 1983, a group of high-school students—a brain, an athlete, a basket case, a princess and a criminal—serving a day of detention must run for their lives when a teacher in a wheelchair turns out to be an ex-black ops soldier having a murderous flashback.” GETTING SCHOOLED was directed by Chuck Norfolk and stars Mayra Leal, Roland Ruiz, Jacob Byrd, Morgan Tyler, Susan Ly, Tom Long and Nick Nicholson, with Jeremy (bottom photo, who also appears in Norfolk’s upcoming HAUNTED TRAILER) as Janitor Dan.

“I’ve always loved THE BREAKFAST CLUB,” Norfolk tells Fango, “but some days, don’t you just want to see those brats die? I know I do. That’s why I made GETTING SCHOOLED.” Adds producer/production designer Courtney Sandifer (who also served the latter function on THE PICKAXE MURDERS III: THE FINAL CHAPTER), “We fully intend this to be an intense but funky thrill ride of a movie—gore and suspense splashed across a quirky, colorful new-wave ’80s backdrop. I honestly cannot wait to get to the final product, with the amazing music we’re adding. Fans of John Hughes movies and horror films will be intrigued, I’m sure—and I hope they will be pleased after watching it!” The GETTING SCHOOLED gang will be attending May’s Texas Frightmare Weekend (for which Fango is a sponsor), so visit the Lucky Chucky Productions booth there; in the meantime, you can get schooled on the movie at its Facebook page.
