Exclusive Teaser Premiere: Screamfest Short Film “AGATHA”!

One of the delights of the film festival experience is discovering short films, often serving as introductions to bold new voices in cinema. When it comes to genre festivals, however, this experience can become so much more worthwhile, whether it be finding subversive new horror, genuinely chilling tales, or the seeds of a future franchise among the short film block. And with the L.A.-based Screamfest launching today, FANGORIA has the first look at one of the most buzzworthy short films out of the fright festival: Tim Vandenberg’s AGATHA!

For those who haven’t heard of this scary short film, here’s the official synopsis and teaser trailer for AGATHA…

The orphan train comes daily, spilling hundreds of children onto the streets of Pennsylvania in the late 1800’s. Desperate and alone, the penniless 7 year old Sophie, entrusts an older woman who hires her to bring food each night to someone living in her attic. There is just one rule: Do not pass the serving table….EVER. As time passes, the child’s curiosity grows bold; drawing her closer to discovering the truth behind the prisoner.

Starring Louise Ogle, Penny Kohut, and Renee Farrabarrow, AGATHA will be premiering at Screamfest on Sunday, October 23rd in the 2 p.m. Shorts Block. Stay tuned for more on AGATHA and Screamfest here at FANGORIA.com!
