Exclusive specs: acclaimed anthology “MORRIS COUNTY” coming to DVD/VOD

Following its successful festival tour, award-winning filmmaker Matthew Garrett’s omnibus horror feature MORRIS COUNTY is heading home on DVD and VOD next month. We got the scoop on the disc details and the cover art to share with you.

Unearthed Films will release the fully loaded DVD of MORRIS COUNTY December 16, and the movie will also be available on nationwide VOD December 1 via VUBIQUITY. The official synopsis of the three thematically connected stories is: “Darcy Miller is ‘Ellie,’ a damaged teenage girl harboring a terrible secret. Through the course of one traumatic day we learn what led this innocent girl down a path of self-destruction from which there is no return. In ‘The Family Rubin,’ an upper middle-class Jewish family struggles to keep up appearances as their seemingly perfect life begins to crack at the seams. Elderly Iris is laid off in ‘Elmer & Iris’ [pictured above], forcing her to join her curmudgeonly husband in early retirement. When Elmer suddenly dies, Iris decides to keep his decaying body around out of fear of living—and dying—alone.”

The cast also includes Albie Selznick, Pamela Stewart, Erik Fransden and Alice Cannon; David Kristian (SISTERS, LA BELLE BETE) created the score and Brian Spears and Pete Gerner (STAKE LAND, I SELL THE DEAD) handled the makeup FX. Bonus features on the DVD are:

• Late-night, beer-infused commentary by writer/director Garrett and Kier-La Janisse, author of HOUSE OF PSYCHOTIC WOMEN
• Commentary by Garrett, producer Thomas Rondinella, associate producer Adam Schoon and co-editor Arin Sang-urai
• “Ellie Revisited”: A conversation with actress Miller
