Exclusive: “RETURN TO NUKE ‘EM HIGH, VOLUME 2” Workprint to Screen at Tromadance 2015!Home,Movies/TV,News Ken W. Hanley
Following the recent Kickstarter for finishing funds, Troma fans saw light on the horizon for the much-anticipated RETURN TO NUKE ‘EM HIGH VOLUME 2, the second chapter in the 40+ year old indie studios gory return to form. And while fans might have to wait a little bit longer to see the shiny, polished version that will eventually make its way to theaters, FANGORIA has exclusively learned that a work-in-progress cut of RETURN TO NUKE ‘EM HIGH VOLUME 2 will be screening on Friday, July 24th as a part of Troma’s esteemed Brooklyn-based film festival, Tromadance!
“We’ve come to a point where we’d like to get some input,” said Troma head honcho Lloyd Kaufman. “We’ve got almost a fine cut, but it’s not color corrected and not all of the After Effects are done yet. But it will be good to screen it to an audience who specializes in genre film, give out some questionnaires and get some answers from them about what works and doesn’t work. I think this screening will be extremely amazing for the public, and the interactive fans who come to Tromadance like to be a part of the event. I think it’s going to be a good experience for us and our fans.”
The work-in-progress screening joins the likes of Rodney Ascher’s THE NIGHTMARE, Luke Hyams’ X MOOR and Michael Steves’ CLINGER (starring Troma & FANGO fave Debbie Rochon) for the features screening throughout the free two-day festival as well as an array of genre-oriented short films in the spirit of independent filmmaking. The festival will be held at The Paper Box (17 Meadow Street, Brooklyn, NY), and will also feature a panel on branding on Saturday, July 25th, which will include representatives from YouTube, VICE and more!
“We have the best and most eclectic line-up in the 16 years of Tromadance in 2015,” adds Kaufman. “We also have the best musical component this year, as well as interpretative dance, which we did not have last year.”
