Exclusive “Old School” TV Spot for “Old School” Horror, “ALMOST HUMAN”

Joe Begos’ upcoming ALMOST HUMAN has more going for it than just Carpenter font. It’s “old school” in a way that doesn’t feel reaching, or desperate to show off its influence. There’s little interest in homage. Instead, it’s a brisk, lo-fi, gory, gooey marriage of the slasher and an alien abduction that manages to genuinely feel like old-fashioned, bloody fun. This TV spot for it however, is directly recalling a time when we didn’t just watch movie ads on the internet. Boasting words from RE-ANIMATOR and FROM BEYOND director/horror hero Stuart Gordon and flashing plenty of the murderous, extraterrestrial mayhem on display, this FANGORIA exclusive will get you in the proper mood.

In ALMOST HUMAN, Mark Fisher disappeared from his home in a brilliant flash of blue light almost two years ago. His friend Seth Hampton was the last to see him alive. Now a string of grisly, violent murders leads Seth to believe that Mark is back, and something evil is inside of him.

ALMOST HUMAN opens February 21 in theaters and On Demand from IFC Midnight.
