Exclusive NSFW trailer: The “soap opera/slasher” film “HELL TOWN”

,

We first broke the news here about HELL TOWN, the new campy slasher opus structured as three episodes of a faux soap opera, and now we’ve got an exclusive first look at the trailer (with NSFW bits you wouldn’t see or hear in a typical daytime drama).

HELL TOWN was directed by Steve Balderson of PEP SQUAD and Elizabeth Spear, and stars Jeff Montague, Krysten Day, Blake Cordell, Sarah Napier, Beckijo Neill, Jennifer Grace and Pleasant Gehman. The synopsis: “HELL TOWN follows the melodramatic antics of high-school seniors clashing over love, sex and betrayal. In the middle of all the one-sided infatuations, backstabbing bitchiness, bottled-up sexuality, sibling rivalry and general small-town angst, the “Letter Jacket Killer” is murdering students in a variety of sadistic ways. As the body count rises and the blood pools closer to home, it becomes clear that one of our main characters is the killer…but who? Everyone, from the Prom Queen and Shirtless Jock to the Nosey Geek and Super Bitch, is a suspect.”

“The inspiration,” Balderson says, “comes from the Netflix model of the world. It’s so much fun to binge-watch an addictive show—especially serials involving catfights, cliffhangers and murder.”HELL TOWN will play at the Crimson Screen Horror Film Fest, which runs May 15-17 in Charleston, SC; for more info and festival announcements, keep an eye on the movie’s webpage.
