The namesake holiday has just passed but a serial killer will continue to make it bloody as EASTER SUNDAY is headed for release. We’ve got the exclusive info and first look at the new trailer.
Camp Motion Pictures gave Fango the scoop that it has acquired EASTER SUNDAY for release later this year; the movie will have special theatrical and fan-expo screenings ahead of its DVD/digital debut. Written and directed by Jeremy Todd Morehead and produced by and co-starring Morehead and Jason Delgado, it features the late Robert Z’Dar in one of his final roles. The synopsis: “It’s been 24 years since the deranged serial killer Douglas Fisher was executed by police on Easter night, and his gruesome story became a terrifying urban legend. Then, during a drunken campfire ritual, a group of teens accidentally conjure the spirit of Fisher—a.k.a. the bunny-masked killer! Unless they can stop him before midnight on Easter, the evil bunny slasher will tear their town and everyone in it into pieces.” Z’Dar plays Sheriff Arkin, who is haunted by the previous string of murders and is determined to not let the past repeat itself, and FRIDAY THE 13TH’s Ari Lehman also turns up in a small role.
“We’re delighted to add EASTER SUNDAY to the Camp Motion Pictures library,” says Camp’s Michael Raso. “It’s a great example of independent low-budget genre cinema, and we will continue our commitment to support young filmmakers like Jeremy Todd Morehead, Jason Delgado and the EASTER SUNDAY cast and crew.” Stay tuned for the specific release dates, full disc details and new poster/cover art!
