The latest from the Spanish master of warped horror/comedy and a subterranean fright flick have both been set for summer U.S. debuts by IFC Films under its IFC Midnight banner.

IFC gave Fango the scoop that it will release Álex de la Iglesia’s WITCHING AND BITCHING (a.k.a. LAS BRUJAS DE ZUGARRAMURDI) on June 13 in theaters as well as on cable VOD, iTunes, Xbox, PlayStation, Amazon Instant Video, Google Play and SundanceNow. Ben Ketai’s BENEATH (no relation to the Larry Fessenden film of the same title) follows on the VOD and digital platforms June 27, with theatrical slated for July 25. In WITCHING AND BITCHING, jewel thieves on the run from a heist gone wrong flee the city and wind up in a rural town populated by sorceresses who want to sacrifice them (see our review here). BENEATH stars Brent Briscoe from THE GREEN MILE and A SIMPLE PLAN, Kurt Caceres, Eric Etebari, genre vet Jeff Fahey and CABIN FEVER’s Joey Kern as coal miners who become trapped underground by a cave-in and slowly begin to turn on each other—and might be trapped with something else down there.
