Exclusive deleted scene: Holy desecration from “THE VATICAN TAPES”

One of the world’s great religious icons is among the victims in a deleted scene from THE VATICAN TAPES, the supernatural thriller available on disc and digital platforms soon. We’ve got an exclusive sneak peek at that bit past the jump.

Released by Lionsgate Home Entertainment, THE VATICAN TAPES will see Blu-ray, DVD and digital release October 20. Directed by Mark Neveldine, one of the duo responsible for the insanity of the CRANK films (and who talks about the movie here and here), it stars Olivia Taylor Dudley, Michael Peña, Dougray Scott and Djimon Hounsou. The synopsis: “Angela Holmes [Dudley] is an ordinary 27-year-old until she begins to have a devastating effect on anyone close, causing serious injury and death. Holmes is examined and possession is suspected, but when the Vatican is called upon to exorcise the demon, the possession proves to be an ancient satanic force more powerful than ever imagined. It’s all up to Father Lozano [Peña] to wage war for more than just Angela’s soul, but for the world as we know it.”

The Blu-ray/DVD/digital special features are:

• Audio commentary by Neveldine, Dudley and cinematographer Gerardo Madrazo
• “Tale of the Tapes” featurette
• Deleted scenes
• Extended scenes
