Exclusive clip: Drafthouse Films’ shocker “NOTHING BAD CAN HAPPEN”
NOTHING BAD CAN HAPPEN? Ha! The opposite is true in the fact-based movie that opens in New York City this Thursday from Drafthouse Films; check out an exclusive clip after the jump.
Drafthouse opens NOTHING BAD CAN HAPPEN at Manhattan’s IFC Center (323 6th Avenue at West 3rd Street) on July 3; it’s currently playing at Los Angeles’ Downtown Independent (251 S. Main Street), and in other cities (go here for the complete release schedule). A winner of multiple international festival awards, it was written and directed by first-timer Katrin Gebbe and stars Julius Feldmeier, Sascha Alexander Gersak, Annika Kuhl, Swantje Kohlhof, Til Theinert, Daniel Michel, and Nadine Boske. The synopsis: Inspired by atrocious true events, NOTHING BAD CAN HAPPEN follows Tore, a young lost soul involved with an underground Christian punk movement who falls in with a deeply dysfunctional family, lorded over by a father who cannot resist playing cruel games designed to challenge Tore’s beliefs. As his trials become more and more extreme, the young man finds his capacity for love and resilience pushed to its limits, and beyond.” See our review of NOTHING BAD CAN HAPPEN here.
