Exclusive clip: Behind the splattery scenes of “ALMOST HUMAN”

The independent sci-fi/horror movie ALMOST HUMAN, coming to DVD and Blu-ray next week, showcases a ton of grisly makeup FX, and we’ve got an exclusive behind-the-scenes peek at them from the supplemental features to share with you.

Written and directed by Joe Begos, ALMOST HUMAN is about an alien abductee (Josh Ethier) who returns home two years after he vanished—but as his friend (RE-ANIMATOR: THE MUSICAL’s Graham Skipper) discovers, he’s not quite himself, and goes on a murderous rampage. The gore and other horrific FX were created by Rob Fitz, whose credits include big films like AMERICAN HUSTLE and R.I.P.D. and indies such as INFECTED and INKUBUS. IFC Films and MPI Media release ALMOST HUMAN on both disc formats next Tuesday, June 17, packed with extras including two filmmaker/cast commentaries, a 45-minute documentary, the creators’ early short movie TOXIN and more.
