Exclusive art plus complete specs for “NEKROMANTIK” Blu-ray/new DVD

After a couple of false starts, Jörg Buttgereit’s notorious corpse-lovin’ shocker NEKROMANTIK is finally returning to DVD and making its Blu-ray debut this fall. Jump past the jump for an exclusive peek at the cover along with the full details.

Cult Epics will issue NEKROMANTIK, in which street cleaner Rob (Daktari Lorenz) and his girlfriend Betty (Beatrice M.) enter into a threesome with a dead body that has an awful psychological and physical toll, on Blu-ray and a two-DVD edition October 7. Both of these will include both a director’s approved HD transfer derived from the original Super-8 negative, and a “Grindhouse HD” version taken from the theatrical 35mm print. The approximately four hours of special features will include:

• Introduction by Jorg Buttgereit (2013)
• Q&A with Buttgereit at the American Cinematheque (2013)
• Buttgereit’s never-before-released 45-minute short film HOT LOVE in HD
• Audio commentary by Buttgereit and co-writer Franz Rodenkirchen
• “The Making of NEKROMANTIK”
• NEKROMANTIK featurette
• Still photo gallery
• Buttgereit trailers
• Original motion picture soundtrack

The first 2,000 copies of the Blu-ray will also include original collectible artwork by Johnny Ryan and a Nekrophilia photo of Beatrice M. (partially seen above). Retail prices are $29.95 for the double-DVD and $34.95 for the Blu-ray, the latter of which can be pre-ordered now from Diabolik DVD.
