Exclusive: Argento’s “DRACULA” and de Van’s “DARK TOUCH” get U.S. datesMovies/TV,News Michael Gingold
A couple of very different horror films by a pair of very different European auteurs now have confirmed debut dates for big- and small-screen exposure in the U.S., and we’ve got the scoop on when they’re arriving.
Fango got the exclusive word that IFC Films will release Marina de Van’s DARK TOUCH on September 27 and Dario Argento’s DRACULA 3D (pictured above, under the new title ARGENTO’S DRACULA) October 4, both in select theaters and on cable and digital VOD, under its IFC Midnight banner. DARK TOUCH, the latest from French writer/director de Van (best known for her self-mutilation opus IN MY SKIN), centers on a young girl who survives her family’s gruesome murder—and may have been responsible for it (see our review here). Argento’s dimensional DRACULA stars Thomas Kretschmann as the Count, Marta Gastini as Mina Harker, Asia Argento as Lucy and Rutger Hauer as Van Helsing; it’ll be available in 3D on the DirecTV, AT&T, Verizon, Comcast, CableVision and Time Warner cable and satellite platforms as well as in theaters.
