EXCL Photos: Billy Corgan-Approved, Indie Psychothriller “HONEYSPIDER”

Upstart indie filmmakers Josh Hasty and Kenny Caperton contacted FANGORIA today and lay a stack of sweet-arse exclusive photos from their new flick, the awesomely creepy and trashy HONEYSPIDER. Take a look!

HONEYSPIDER takes place in 1989 on Halloween day and follows college student Jackie Blue (Mariah Brown) as she slowly unravels, all while a mysterious stranger watches over her. The film is written and produced by Kenny Caperton (owner of the infamous Myers House, NC) and directed by Josh Hasty (A MANNEQUIN IN STATIC) of Black House Capital. It stars Frank Aard (APRIL FOOL’S DAY ’08), Joan Schuermeyer, Rachel Jeffreys, Samantha Mills (BOMBSHELL BLOODBATH) and newcomer Mariah Brown.

Billy Corgan of the iconic rock band The Smashing Pumpkins was so smitten with the flick, he generously donated the rights to use one of his early SMASHING PUMPKINS tracks entitled – of course – “Honeyspider”. The song was indeed the inspiration for the name of the picture, so it all came full circle.

HONEYSPIDER is currently in post-production and is scheduled to hit the festival circuit in search of distribution this Fall. For more information, check out the film’s official website and visit the film’s official Facebook page.
