Death Waltz Recording Co. Heads to “TWIN PEAKS”

Meanwhile

In massive news for the vinyl soundtrack resurgence and most especially one of its leaders, Death Waltz Recording Co. will be reissuing THE SOUNDTRACK FROM TWIN PEAKS and TWIN PEAKS: FIRE WALK WITH ME on with brand new, David Lynch-approved artwork.

A cult phenomenon, TWIN PEAKS is of course the beloved Lynch and Mark Frost-created television series about the murder of Laura Palmer and its effects on her hometown of Twin Peaks and the FBI agent who takes up residence there to investigate. When TWIN PEAKS is great, it’s a perfect storm of its creators, its ensemble and Lynch’s regular composer, the great Angelo Badalamenti, whose theme from the series is surely iconic now.

Thus, it’s great news that Death Waltz Recording Co., who’s been taking great care in reissuing genre soundtracks on vinyl since 2011 will handle the Badalamenti TWIN PEAKS releases. Resource site Welcome To Twin Peaks reveals, “The Soundtrack from Twin Peaks will be pressed onto a red, cherry-colored vinyl. Angelo Badalamenti‘s soundtrack for the movie —the best soundtrack ever and not just according to me— will be released on a coffee-colored record. We all know Dale Cooper takes his coffee black as midnight on a moonless night, but let’s assume they won’t go for the standard color of vinyl and rather something brownish.”

This is of course on the heels of the news that a Blu-ray with the entire TWIN PEAKS is expected this year, as well. Keep an eye on Fango for a release date and a peek at that soundtrack artwork, soon.
