Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters have Won the Ice Bucket Challenge with “CARRIE” NodNews Samuel Zimmerman
As I imagine you are a human being reading this, it is likely that you a) have Facebook and b) are somewhat familiar with the internet, which c) means you’ve probably not avoided being exposed to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. While purporting to raise awareness and money for a medical cause (ALS: Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, aka Lou Gherig’s Disease), the Ice Bucket Challenge has in actuality just clogged your feed with people standing in their backyards pouring some combination of ice cubes and fresh water directly over their head. Well, now it’s on Fango. Thanks Foo Fighters!
Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters have accepted the challenge and risen far, far above it. There are a few reasons why their ALS Ice Bucket video is a fantastic thing: 1) Effort, style and creativity in remixing, recutting and recreating the iconic prom scene from CARRIE. 2) Pat Smear. The wonderful, wonderful Pat Smear. 3) It’s given FANGORIA hopefully some of that sweet Ice Bucket clickbait. 4) Grohl challenges Stephen King, who’s since accepted, performed it and gotten defensive about his amazing socks.
Enjoy, and since you likely won’t do better, you should just donate.
And don’t give me shit about my white socks.
