“COLONY”: It’s Roanoke… in Space!

I was but a child when Stephen King’s STORM OF THE CENTURY miniseries aired. It’s namedropping of Roanoke sparked maybe not a deep interest, but certainly the hope that someday someone would craft a thrilling tale around “The Lost Colony.” Will that thrilling adventure be in space?

The CW and writer Ian Goldberg have taken inspiration from the mysterious disappearance of early American settlers with COLONY. The series would focus on a group of explorers sent to colonize Mars, willing to leave their lives behind to brave the dangers of another planet, and the terrifying reality they discover. Hopefully, Roanoke is less of an inspiration and more of a “that whole colony got transferred to Mars” reveal. [Deadline]
