Chainsaw Awards Exclusive: “HOUSEBOUND” ‘For Your Consideration’ Posters!

,,

If it has not yet been apparent, Gerard Johnstone’s HOUSEBOUND was one of last year’s horror highlights, making 3 out of 4 FANGORIA Best of 2014 lists and earning 3 Chainsaw Award nominations. Now, with the Chainsaw voting winding down, the good folks at XLrator Media have offered more incentive for FANGORIA readers to put HOUSEBOUND on their ballot, debuting two exclusive pieces of For Your Consideration art!

For those unfamiliar, here’s the official synopsis of HOUSEBOUND:

Kylie Bucknell is forced to return to the house she grew up in when the court places her on home detention. However, when she too becomes privy to unsettling whispers & strange bumps in the night, she begins to wonder whether she’s inherited her overactive imagination, or if the house is in fact possessed by a hostile spirit who’s less than happy about the new living arrangement.

Here’s what the critics said about HOUSEBOUND:

“Creepy, silly, inventive, darkly funny and, at one point, mind-blowingly bloody.” – The Los Angeles Times

“A welcome return to quirky Kiwi horror comedy with a juicy payoff.” – The Hollywood Reporter

“A marvelously entertaining combo of haunted-house thriller, murder mystery and domestic comedy, HOUSEBOUND marks a mighty impressive feature bow for Kiwi scripter-helmer-editor Gerard Johnstone… Te Wiata is spot-on as a mother whose endless prattling is amusing, but whose sadness at not knowing her daughter is never lost in the process.” – Variety

“HOUSEBOUND quickly tears apart the classic haunted-house movie piece by piece, and then reconstructs it on the fly with fresh new materials, garnished with oodles of blood, dark comedy, strong characters, and genuine suspense.” – Twitch

“Breathtakingly hilarious, authentically scary, narratively unpredictable and stylistically confident.” – FANGORIA

If you’d like to vote for HOUSEBOUND for Best Limited Release Film, Best Supporting Actress (Rima Te Wiata), and Best Screenplay, you can find the full ballot and voting instructions here. If you haven’t yet caught up with this fantastic fright flick, you can find HOUSEBOUND on DVD, Blu-ray, Amazon Instant Video, iTunes and Netflix Instant Streaming.
