  • “LIGHTS OUT” Director Recruited for “ANNABELLE” Sequel

    Just yesterday, news broke that Warner Brothers had set a release date for ANNABELLE 2, the fourth chapter in the ongoing CONJURING saga. Yet with only the return of producers James Wan, Peter Safran and writer Gary Dauberman sealed for the sequel, there was no details if director John Leonetti would return behind the camera for ANNABELLE. Now, Variety confirms that this will not be the case, with LIGHTS OUT director David Sandberg announced to bring the creepy doll back to the big screen.

  • Release Date Shuffle: “ANNABELLE 2”, “CLOWN” and More…

    With the exception of AMITYVILLE: THE AWAKENING, the world of horror has certainly started surfacing many of its most notoriously shelved titles over the past year. Long delayed titles such as AREA 51, KRISTY, 7500 and DJINN have all seen the light of limited release as of late, but there’s one film that remained a question mark: Jon Watt’s CLOWN, produced by Eli Roth and based on a faux trailer that became a viral sensation. However, should the film not find itself getting the AMITYVILLE treatment, CLOWN will finally be coming to U.S. audiences as Deadline reports the twisted horror flick will be getting a limited theatrical release this June!

    While the ‘90s might be known as a (undeservedly) derided era in the genre’s history, there’s no denying just how odd the ‘90s were in retrospect. Of all the horror films that are indicative of the style and execution of ‘90s horror, few genre flicks painted ‘90s pop culture better than David Nutter’s DISTURBING BEHAVIOR. And as a film that’s certainly gained traction as of late thanks to Netflix and, now, Scream Factory’s Blu-ray release, it’s certainly going to be interesting to see how DISTURBING BEHAVIOR plays among a new generation of fright fans.
