  • “SHE-WOLF #1” (Comic Book Review)

    ,,

If the recent influx of independent horror movies has proven anything, it’s that creativity and surrealism is finally surpassing jump-scares and over-the-top gore. With movies like BEYOND THE BLACK RAINBOW, IT FOLLOWS, and most recently THE WITCH, the trend has not only opened up the door for more experimental movies, but comics as well. Though imaginative comics aren’t anything new (see early HEAVY METAL), we are now finally seeing big publishers pick the strange and independent world that has been rumbling just below the surface, starting with SHE-WOLF.

  • FANGORIA Podcast Network: “THE GIRLS IN THE BACK ROW” Celebrate “HONEYMOON”!

    ,,,

One of the things this writer/producer loves about the FANGORIA Podcast Network is how organically our programs will cross-pollinate, even though they’re so diverse in nature. Whether it’s THE PUMPKIN PIE SHOW’s Clay McLeod Chapman appearing on THE RANTS MACABRE or titles that appear nearly simultaneously between programs, it’s quite satisfying in an unexpected way to see the bleedover from one show to the next. And while Kate is absent once again from this week’s episode of THE GIRLS IN THE BACK ROW, Tab has enlisted in THE HORROR SHOW’s Sean Miller to join her in this week’s examination of Leigh Janiak’s HONEYMOON!

  • Announcement: Regarding Michael Gingold, Bill Mohalley and FANGORIA’s Future

In the years afterwards, he became my mentor, my colleague, my editor and, most importantly, my friend. And, without a shadow of a doubt, he was the heart of FANGORIA Magazine for longer than I’ve been alive.
