    Horror Returns to Hollywood at AFI Fest

    For our West Coast fright fanatics, prepare to be scared by some of this year’s most buzzworthy festival selections and genre favorites at the AFI Fest, running from November 7-14 in Hollywood, CA at various venues.     Q&A: KNB EFX’s Greg Nicotero on “NIGHTMARE FACTORY”

    If any makeup FX house deserves a documentary devoted to its history and craft, it’s KNB EFX. In the 25 years since it was formed by Greg Nicotero, Howard Berger and Robert Kurtzman, it has become a Hollywood institution, and its history is explored in the Epix channel’s feature-length documentary NIGHTMARE FACTORY, debuting this week.     Gallery: Toronto Zombie Walk and Fango’s Retromortis After Party!

    This past weekend on Saturday, September 26th, in a rain, wind and cold battered Toronto, FANGORIA’s Canadian component had its bloody mitts in a double shot of connected events. Local legend Thea Munster once more assembled her ghouls for the official Toronto Zombie Walk and despite the near biblical weather, thousands of shambling rabble rousers in every class of cannibal corpse costume stumbled in to join the fun. FANGORIA was on hand, hanging with parade Marshal and horror movie icon Linnea Quigley in a tent that threatened to blow away into the stratosphere at any second. It held however, the rain eventually stopped and the dead roamed wild.

    Q&A: Classic Misfit, DOYLE on Danzig’s 25th Anniversary Tour and More

    About midway through the set on Danzig’s 25th Anniversary tour, the legendary front man stops the show to introduce an old friend. With absolute fury, Misfits guitarist Doyle comes stomping out—in full devilocked, corpse faced glory—to blister through a set of the seminal punk band’s favorites. The room, or at least New York City’s Roseland Ballroom in this case, comes alive. Even someone who prefers the solo Danzig material would find it hard to deny this as a highlight, the most rousing aspect of the evening.

    Total Treat! “TRICK ‘R TREAT 2″ is happening

    Michael Dougherty’s utter gem of Halloween spirit has, over the last four years, undoubtedly found its audience. Growing steadily to annual tradition (see: FEARNet’s yearly 24-hour marathon) for fans everywhere, TRICK ‘R TREAT is something special and unlike many great things, seems to have energy to spare.
