Following the loss of THE FOLLOWING, HANNIBAL, and CONSTANTINE all sadly out of the picture, horror programming on network television has been dwindling. However, the shows that remain are still quite strong, with SLEEPY HOLLOW (starring Chainsaw Award-nominee Nicole Beharie) offering a second season last year that was met with stronger reviews and solid ratings. Now, with the third season on the horizon and the second season hitting Blu-ray tomorrow as a part of Fox Home Entertainment’s Holiday Collection, FANGORIA has an exclusive behind-the-scenes featurette clip from the High Def set that shows off how they achieved one of the show’s most eerie antagonists: The Pied Piper!Read more »

There’s few real-life figures that must be as intimidating to portray as notorious cult leader Charles Manson, whose psychological and physical torment lead to some of the most graphic murders of the 20th Century. Yet few tackle the chilling character with the gusto of one-time GAME OF THRONES star Gethin Anthony, who embodies Manson in all of his wicked ways on NBC’s intense and dark series, AQUARIUS. With AQUARIUS now making its way to home video, now with more violence, sex and foul language that was cut from broadcast, FANGORIA caught up with the versatile actor to talk Manson, music and the grim eventualities that await AQUARIUS…Read more »

As any fright fan knows, the horror genre has a particularly salacious relationship with sexually explicit content. And while nudity so often goes side by side with decapitated heads and brutal bloodletting, there are also horror filmmakers throughout the years who made an art form out of the human body with an appreciation of our most lurid and lucid desires. And it’s with that macabre mentality in mind that FANGORIA is proud to announce our partnership with Mr. Skin for a brand new NSFW column that looks to provoke our minds as well as our more physical impulses, FLESH AND BLOOD!Read more »

The world of horror is a strange place at the moment. With video rental limited to $1 a day services like Redbox and most audiences taking solace in inexpensive streaming services, most existing horror properties are either opting for glossy, repetitive remakes or the increasingly competitive world of horror television. Meanwhile, so-called horror fans have taken to the internet to bemoan the onslaught of found footage films and sequels/remakes/reboots in the theater, only to ignore the myriad excellent independent horror films available on iTunes, Amazon and Vudu at any given time (and that’s if they choose not to illegally pirate the film elsewhere). So for anyone to claim they know the future for horror film distribution is speculative, at best.Read more »

As encouraging as the recent successes of STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON and WAR ROOM have been for racial diversity on screen, the fact that the stalker saga THE PERFECT GUY looks to win this weekend’s box office is even more positive, in a sense: It proves that an African-American cast can draw crowds to a film that otherwise has nothing else to offer.Read more »
