“CARRIE” trailer looks an abridged version of entire film

A good look at Kimberly Peirce’s re-adaptation of Stephen King’s classic novel is here, and…

I have no idea what to think of this. So much of daily news here and other film-centric spots online is prediction and anticipation; trying to suss out an opinion on less than a few minutes of footage that rarely accurately represents its final product anyway. Yet still, CARRIE immediately feels uneasy. Peirce could be a thrilling director for this material, just as Julianne Moore and Chloë Grace Moretz are strong actors for these roles. But what will this be? Moretz, despite how talented she is and even considering the very nature of “acting,” may just not be homely enough. That looks an awful lot like digital blood flowing from the bucket. That’s not to mention this overlong trailer seems to hit every beat of the story, showcasing aesthetics both intriguing and disheartening.

CARRIE is out in October.

I think he was referring to the prom scene, where the blood is being spilled from the bucket. It does look kinda fake to me as well.

There are some movies for which the original cannot be outdone: Jaws, Carrie, and Halloween.
