Burbank’s Hyaena Gallery honors del Toro with July exhibitMovies/TV,News Samuel Zimmerman
While arguably the best way to celebrate Guillermo del Toro is to see the original, sci-fi monster-filled vision he’s unleashing this month, an equally fine tribute is coming to Burbank, CA’s Hyaena Gallery, as well.
INTO THE LABYRINTH & MIND OF GUILLERMO DEL TORO is a show curated by Chogrin (famed Illustrator & art show curator from Guayaquil, Ecuador) and featuring exclusively Latino/Spanish artists that pays illustrated tribute to the acclaimed filmmaker and his fantastic output. Featuring the works of its curator Chogrin, Robot Soda, German Orozco, Dienzo (who painted the above “Pan), Hellosobre, Kasey Tararuj, Pakoto, Jorsh Pena, Carlos Lerma, Glen Brogan, Walrus Felts, and Anita Mejia, the show is “a response to the support which Guillermo has always given to artists and is a nod to his proud Mexican heritage. It is a thank you to Del Toro for the years of inspiration he has provided for all of us.”
INTO THE LABYRINTH… opens with a reception on Saturday, July 6 and will remain on view until July 31. You can find excerpted pieces below. For much more, visit Hyaena Gallery.
