Blumhouse puts Bacon on “6 MIRANDA DRIVE”

Following the success of his horror-infused serial killer series, THE FOLLOWING, it was only a matter of time before Kevin Bacon returned to face more frights on the big screen. Now, word comes from The Hollywood Reporter that the FRIDAY THE 13TH and STIR OF ECHOES star has found his cinematic chiller comeback by the way of Blumhouse and Aussie horror director Greg McLean (WOLF CREEK) with the supernatural thriller 6 MIRANDA DRIVE.

McLean, hot off the impending WOLF CREEK 2, also writes the microbudgeted project, which follows “a family that unwittingly brings a fear-feeding supernatural force with them when they return from a Grand Canyon vacation.” No other names are currently attached to the project, save for SILENT HILL star Radha Mitchell, who is in final negotiations to join as Bacon’s wife.

Seeing as how well the INSIDIOUS series did for Blum, is Bacon primed for a horror career boost akin to Blumhouse collaborators Patrick Wilson and Ethan Hawke? Seeing as family-based horror is Blum’s bag, hopefully 6 MIRANDA DRIVE will be another crowd pleaser, and with production due to start next month in Los Angeles, expect more announcements on this title soon.
