Black Eyes: Marina de Van’s “DARK TOUCH” Gets First Poster

DarkTouchFeat

Marina de Van, the filmmaker behind the intensely graphic IN MY SKIN and stylish thriller DON’T LOOK BACK has turned her eye to a child’s tale of horror. DARK TOUCH is a thrilling, Ireland-set film about a girl followed by destruction and may be the cause of it. The first poster certainly tips a hat to that with the innocent face of young Missy Keating, given the blackest eyes.

In DARK TOUCH, 11 year-old Neve is the lone survivor of a massacre that takes her entire family. A frightful power she possesses is the cause and the unsettling themes at play, coupled with de Van’s provocative filmmaking make this a must-see. I loved it at Tribeca and while we haven’t seen this October’s CARRIE redo just yet, it’s almost certain DARK TOUCH plays it much less safe.

DARK TOUCH is in select theaters, On Demand and available for download on September 27 from IFC. For more on the film, see our review from the Tribeca Film Festival and our interview with de Van.
