Cops vs. Cult Short “BASKIN” to be Feature

,

BASKIN, a Turkish short with a nifty teaser will make the jump to feature, thanks to young production outfit M Entertainment.

Based in Istanbul, BASKIN finds a squadron of cops happen upon the den and ritual setting of a Lovecraftian cult. It only spirals from there.

Director Can Evrenol will adapt and expand his short for a late 2014 shoot in Turkey. Evrenol is perhaps best known for his gory, gross 2012 Film4 Frightfest “no talking/texting” bumper, which garnered a ton of publicity for a wild, tasteless scenario that involved necrophilia and offended many.

While not online in full, you can see the teaser for the BASKIN short film below and a good deal of the Evrenol’s previous short work on his Vimeo channel. [Variety]
