Q&A: Luke Evans makes sure “NO ONE LIVES”

The brand new bloodbath from stylistic director Ryûhei Kitamura (VERSUS, GODZILLA: FINAL WARS, THE MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN) is a welcome twist on the slasher. As most would argue you’re identifying with the stalker of these films anyway, NO ONE LIVES (out May 10 in select cities from Anchor Bay) presents its sociopath, the quietly menacing Driver, as your protagonist. It’s his world, the rest of the ensemble is just dying in it. Fango spoke with the film’s psycho killer, Luke Evans, about the movie, the inner workings of his character and all of the nasty fun he seemed to have on set.

    “THALE” (DVD/Blu-ray Review)

THALE is a lovely film, epitomized by its titular creature, which is a gorgeous one indeed. • Trailer: Take your first look “UNDER THE BED”

Steven C. Miller, who just last year brought us both THE AGGRESSION SCALE and loose Santa slasher redo is entering more monstrous territory with Amblin creature feature throwback UNDER THE BED.

The increasingly prolific indie filmmaker tells the story of “the monster under the bed. Neal Hausman’s mistake was trying to fight it. Neal (Jonny Weston) has returned from a two-year exile following his tragic attempt to defeat the monster, only to find his father ticking ever closer to a breakdown, a new stepmother who fears him, and his little brother Paul (Gattlin Griffith), terrorized by the same monster. While Neal and Paul work together to try and fight the nocturnal menace, their parents are taking desperate measures to get the family back to normal. With no support from their parents, the brothers have nothing to rely on but each other, and courage beyond belief.”

XLRATOR Media, who also has the Soska Sisters’ AMERICAN MARY on the way, releases UNDER THE BED July 19. [The Wrap]
