EXCL Photos: Christopher Denham’s Tribeca Midnight Premiere, “PRESERVATION”

One of the best, and sadly lesser known, films of the current found footage boom is Christopher Denham’s HOME MOVIE. With that film, the talented actor seen in SOUND OF MY VOICE certainly earned eager anticipation for his follow-up feature, whatever it may be. It is now arriving in the form of PRESERVATION, a film world premiering in the Midnight Section of the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival and one that seeks to subvert a certain kind of age-old horror story. Prior to its premiere, see an exclusive peek at PRESERVATION in new images, below.

Amy Adams in Talks for Alien Thriller from “PRISONERS” Filmmaker; Director Comments

PRISONERS director Denis Villenueve is getting further out there with each follow-up. His latest, the surreal and uneasy doppelganger tale ENEMY is currently in theaters. With its monstrous visions, the film likely prepared him for STORY OF YOUR LIFE, his upcoming alien-centric thriller based on a short story by Ted Chiang, and which it looks like will likely star Amy Adams.

Paper Dolls for a Home Invader in Fantastic “BORGMAN” Poster

BORGMAN is wild. The surreal, Dutch black comedy can be cutely described as something like “DOGTOOTH, but a home invasion movie,” but that only kind of accounts for the weird stuff on display. Brutally funny, but bleak and frightening as the titular invader plays and positions the family at hand, this poster beautifully captures just what’s happening in the upcoming Drafthouse Films release.

Luckily, the deserved acclaim its garnering should get asses in seats, selling out auditoriums as the film begins its theatrical roll out from Drafthouse Films.

Q&A: David Koechner, on “CHEAP THRILLS”

In a film bursting with stellar performance, it’s an achievement to stand out. The deservedly acclaimed CHEAP THRILLS of course boasts an amazing lead turn from Pat Healy, but just behind him is something sinister from ANCHORMAN’s David Koechner. By subverting his cinematically oafish persona, Koechner turns Colin into a confrontational, suggestive villain. What if the physically hilarious personality, one that’s regarded as kind of a douche, was cleverer than you might think? What if he wielded real power over you, your family, your future?
