EXCL: Ray Wise Confirms “TWIN PEAKS” Lynch-directed Blu-ray Promo

It’s been 25 years (story-wise) since the world followed Agent Dale Cooper and his investigations into the surreal and horrifying town of TWIN PEAKS, breaking new ground in television and amassing a huge audience and enduring cult fanbase. Now, after a casting call for a TWIN PEAKS promo, purportedly directed by series co-creator David Lynch himself, rumors began to swell that we would see, however briefly, more of the PEAKS universe for the show’s upcoming Blu-ray release. This rumor was especially titillating as it would coincide with Laura Palmer’s posthumous sentiments to Agent Cooper and give the first new PEAKS to the generations that have discovered it in the years since its cancellation.

    “RAZE” (Movie Review)

How does one, as a storyteller, approach a film about women fighting to the death in a grisly secret tournament without risking accusations of misogyny? Without much grey area in the moral spectrum, one could approach the project exploitatively, harking back to the era of women-in-prison films or the ‘80s’ antiheroine actioners. Otherwise, one could attempt to focus on the characters, making an introspective study on morality and gender subversion while using extreme visuals to help prove the hypothesis.

Q&A: Alice Eve Talks “COLD COMES THE NIGHT”

The latter role is inhabited by Alice Eve, markedly playing against type in this brutal and suspenseful indie film.

“PARANORMAL ACTIVITY” scribe hints at franchise finale

Is there any horror franchise at the moment that’s as divisive as PARANORMAL ACTIVITY? While many are seeing franchise fatigue, especially after THE MARKED ONES’ disappointing opening-weekend numbers, others can’t get enough of the silly and freaky places that the franchise’s mythology is taking audiences. However, if you’re getting the feeling that things are beginning to lean toward a definitive climax, you’re not the only one.

Eric Red’s “THE GUNS OF SANTA SANGRE” (Book Review)

Rugged people, sprawling plains and an undercurrent of superstition and mysticism; to some, the western is an almost perfect fit for tales of terror. However, there’s also risk of awkward translation by melding genres. Somehow, both of these points can be attested to in Eric Red’s latest horror offering, a werewolf-infested western entitled THE GUNS OF SANTA SANGRE, available now from Samhain Publishing.
