    No matter what generation you are from, everyone loves the MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 guys. You have the original fans, like this writer, who watched MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 in its first run, then you have those who discovered the later iterations of the show, such as THE FILM CREW with the Michael J. Nelson-era MST3K cast and then CINEMATIC TITANIC with Joel Hodgson’s MST3K camp. Currently in operation, there is RIFFTRAX, who offer both digital and Fathom Events-sponsored theatrical extensions, and the impending MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 revamp, headlined by NERDIST comedian Jonah Ray.

  • “SHUT IN” (Film Review)

    One of the things I love about horror is it dares to openly explore dark subject matter, and Farren Blackburn’s SHUT IN reminded me of how intriguing it is when psychological issues are explored from a horror point of view. Giving a deep and fascinating portrayal of guilt and insanity, SHUT IN excelled at the exploration of both emotions centered around the experiences of it’s protagonist, Mary, vividly played by Naomi Watts. And for this writer, SHUT IN works so powerfully because how well the film places the audience in the center of Mary’s insanity.
