• NYC: Free Screening of “THE MULE” on November 24!


    FANGORIA will be hosting a free screening of the explosive comedic thriller THE MULE—the latest from SAW/THE CONJURING co-creator Leigh Whannell—in New York City on Monday, November 24 at 7 p.m. This special showing will be held at the Cinema Village (22 East 12th Street, off University Place). Directed by Tony Mahony and Angus Sampson and inspired by a true story, THE MULE stars Hugo (THE MATRIX) Weaving, Angus (INSIDIOUS) Sampson, John (FRINGE) Noble, Ewen (DEAD EUROPE) Leslie and Whannell, who co-wrote the offbeat crime film with Sampson and Jaime Browne.

  • Toronto’s Blood in the Snow announces short film program

    The Blood in the Snow Canadian Film Festival is proud to announce its lineup for its BITS Short Showcase program playing Friday November 28th at 9:30 p.m. The lineup includes premieres of seven short films of the best Canadian genre shorts to be made this year. Last year’s prime time program was a huge hit selling out and adding a second screening.

  • NYC/Brooklyn: See “SUMMER OF BLOOD” at IFP Tonight with Director Q&A

    Onur Tukel’s acclaimed new indie, the NYC-set horror-comedy SUMMER OF BLOOD, is currently enjoying a weeklong run at the Made in NY – IFP Media Center (30 John St). in Dumbo, Brooklyn. There, each screening is accompanied by a talk with director Tukel moderated by a lineup of filmmakers and film writers that have included Indiewire’s Eric Kohn, Troma chief Lloyd Kaufman and indie horror great Larry Fessenden.   • Guests, Films Announced for 13th Annual NYC Horror Film Festival

    WALKING DEAD star Norman Reedus and fearsome Tall Man actor Angus Scrimm will headline—and receive special honorary awards at—the 13th edition of the New York City Horror Film Festival, which will take place November 13-16, 2014 at Tribeca Cinemas (54 Varick Street; 212 941-2001). In addition, director Robert (LAID TO REST) Hall’s FEAR CLINIC, starring Robert Englund and Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, will open the festival. The award-winning New Zealand horror hit HOUSEBOUND will close the event.
