A (Too) Revealing Trailer for Brian De Palma’s psychosexual “PASSION”

Passion_Cover

The power games—in the office, in bed, with knives—between two career women is the focus of De Palma’s roving, stylish camera in PASSION. This trailer for its upcoming official release, however, feels the need to show you how many of them play out.

Hopefully arriving with more fanfare than its received during last fall’s festival run, PASSION is set to hit On Demand August 1, and limited theatrical release (where you want to see it) August 30.  It’s a solid story from a sorely missed cinematic voice. PASSION is twisty, murderous and overtly steamy, with De Palma’s playfulness intact. In the film, “Rachel McAdams and Noomi Rapace star as two rising female executives in a multinational corporation whose fierce competition to rise up the ranks is about to turn literally cut-throat.”

The first half of this preview is game, but if you’re sold on new De Palma alone, I’d say skip altogether.
