The filmmaker who will turn BREAKING DAWN, Stephenie Meyer’s conclusion to her TWILIGHT saga, into a two-part movie for Summit Entertainment has been chosen. And like ECLIPSE’s David Slade, he has more than a bit of a horror background.

The crazy folks at Troma sent along word on a new guest and a new film added to the lineup of their 11th annual TromaDance Film Festival. The event, which we first reported on here, runs Friday-Saturday, April 16-17 in Asbury Park, NJ.

The South’s gonna rise again this July as 2001 MANIACS: FIELD OF SCREAMS, Tim Sullivan’s sequel to his previous Herschell Gordon Lewis homage starring Fango fave Bill Moseley, hits DVD and Blu-ray. The director has revealed the date and provided a look at the cover art as well.

Invincible Pictures gave Fango first word on the details of the DVD release of THE BURNT HOUSE, a new chiller from writer/director Adam Ahlbrandt (who previously scripted and helmed SIGHT). The disc is set to arrive July 16.

If you’re a big Buffy fan but have lost track of the current Dark Horse series of what is essentially season eight (like this scribe has), issue #34 is going to be something quite surprising. In a universe filled to the brim with every kind of creature there is, and even with the scope of the mythology considerably widened by the final televised season and the beginning of this comics run, I still found myself dumbfounded at the direction the current arc BUFFY is headed in as it’s simply put, “out of this world."

It starts off slowly, but the first trailer for Seiji Chiba’s ALIEN VS. NINJA certainly packs a lot of action, blood and guts. Check it out!
