While dedicated fans will bemoan the absence of original series star Robert Englund in the remake of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET (What? Not even a friggin’ cameo?!), the Fango Hall of Famer has not been sitting idle. Englund has a number of projects on the way, most lensed in his favorite European travel spots. Today, we’ll tell you about his Italian slasher film NIGHT OF THE SINNER.

Time to die. Rutger Hauer is going batty again. The BLADE RUNNER actor has been cast as the vigilante vagrant in Jason Eisener’s feature film HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN.

Paramount Home Entertainment has released details of the DVD and Blu-ray release of SHUTTER ISLAND. The Martin Scorsese-directed psychochiller starring Leonardo DiCaprio has been one of this year’s biggest-grossing films, taking in nearly $126 million as of this past weekend.

The walls are crumbling, paint peels off them, pipes are exposed. Down a back passageway lies a cramped space full of junk that one would be loath to explore alone.

Indiana-based filmmaker Zack Parker, whose previous movies include the revenge/horror opus INEXCHANGE and the dramatic thriller QUENCH, got in touch with some comments and info on the latest project for his Along the Tracks Productions, SCALENE. Set to roll later this month in and around Richmond, IN, it’s a rape-and-revenge thriller with a RASHOMON twist.

Fango got the scoop on what you can expect from the DVD releases of a couple of ambitious independent horror features. James Felix McKenney informed us of the extras and a street date for BURNING INSIDE, from his new Channel Midnight company, while Cinema Epoch sent along the full skinny on SEA OF DUST (pictured), featuring Tom Savini.

Maine is not just Stephen King territory—not anymore. Call it “Kenyonland.” Nate Kenyon, that is, the author of the novels BLOODSTONE, THE REACH, PRIME and THE BONE FACTORY. Although he has the same Maine roots, he’s not as popular as “the King of horror”—but give him time.
