Swedish author John Ajvide Lindqvist (pictured) created quite a sensation with his vampire novel LET THE RIGHT ONE IN, which was turned into Tomas Alfredson’s award-winning film of the same title (for which Lindqvist wrote the script). He more recently turned his attention to zombies with HANDLING THE UNDEAD, which now has a U.S. publication date.

After the disappointing dud LOST BOYS: THE TRIBE and the death of original LOST BOYS actor Corey Haim, do we really need another direct-to-DVD sequel to Joel Schumacher’s beloved 1987 vampire flick? It’s not for us to say, but if your favorite Corey is Feldman and you need more Edgar Frog in your life, then take a peek at the LOST BOYS: THE THIRST photos after the jump.

The 3-D craze isn’t only affecting U.S. projects. Word has come down that Japanese studio Toei is now preparing a 3-D version of Kinji Fukasaku’s controversial shocker BATTLE ROYALE.

The FANGORIA South office has finally gotten all moved and unpacked (it’s shocking how long it can take to unpack all the coffins). Consequently, Midnight Movie with Bekah and Dave was forced to go on hiatus for the past few weeks until all the boxes, furniture, computer cables and limbs had been accounted for.

HITMAN and FRONTIER(S) director Xavier Gens (pictured) is currently lensing THE DIVIDE in Winnipeg, and two photos from the postapocalyptic thriller have hit the web. The French site Films Actu posted the pics, which you can look at below.

We haven’t seen Kurt Russell on screen in a little while now—as Stuntman Mike in GRINDHOUSE’s DEATH PROOF, to be exact. Well, he’s coming back in the supernatural thriller UNDYING, which now has a director.

Actually, we don’t really have much new to add about the plot of JONAH HEX. The trailers pretty much explain it all: Scarred bounty hunter Jonah Hex (Josh Brolin) has a connection to the “other side” and a beef to settle with his oldest enemy, Quentin Turnbull (John Malkovich), who is gathering an army and preparing to unleash hell. However, four new character one-sheets have hit the web for you to check out.

In the last few weeks, reader Bryan Kupko bombarded both Fango editor Chris Alexander and me with angry e-mails, calling us out for not putting the A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET remake on the cover of either FANGORIA #292 (April; my last as chief) or #293 (June; Chris’ first). What a switch that was. Back in the 1980s, when Freddy’s burned mug showed up on the cover of Fango and our spinoffs (GOREZONE, HORROR SPECTACULAR, FANGORIA POSTER MAGAZINE, HORROR VIDEO, etc.) at least two dozen times over a 10-year period, some readers berated us for the constant Krueger exposure. “Not another Freddy cover!” they’d cry. Wow, how times have changed.

Oscar-winning director Oliver Stone got his start in the fright genre, writing and directing SEIZURE and THE HAND. Now his son Sean is following in his dad’s footsteps, making his feature directorial debut with a horror pic.

In a case of turnabout being fair play, on the heels of last week’s announcement that Dario Argento will be tackling a new version of DRACULA comes word that one of his own classics is set for remaking. But at least it’s by a qualified colleague…
