UK disc-release info has come in for SHELTER, the supernatural fright flick we previously told you about here. The movie stars HANNIBAL’s Julianne Moore as a forensic psychiatrist whose world slowly starts to erode when she investigates a new patient (THE TUDORS’ Jonathan Rhys Meyers) with multiple personality disorder, and finds that each of his personalities is a different murder victim.

In the wake of THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT and the more recent success PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, increasing numbers of filmmakers are eschewing traditional cinematic styles in favor of literally putting cameras into the hands of their actors. One such movie is READY OR NOT, a new slasher/reality TV hybrid by writer/director Alek Lev, which has its debut screening June 23, 7:30 p.m. at the Wilshire Screening Room (8670 Wilshire Boulevard, #112) in Beverly Hills, California. See some exclusive photos below the jump.

In the UK production DEADTIME, a once popular metal band, now down on their luck and their careers, hopes to create their magnum opus. Locked into a studio for the weekend, nobody can leave, but before the band has finished their first big number, someone is struck down by a masked murderer.

The author’s debut novel concerns Nathaniel Cade, a secret agent sworn by a blood oath to protect the president. However, there are two things you should know: 1) Cade made the oath 140 years ago. And 2) He’s a vampire. BLOOD OATH is the first in a series of novels that will feature “The President’s Vampire.” Check out Farnsworth’s comments on his supernatural aide below.

FANGORIA’s FrightFest (see previous item here and go to www.fangoriafrightfest.com for more details) is nearing its summer debut, and one of the films yearning for your votes to win a theatrical release in the on-line sweepstakes is the haunted-attraction flick DARK HOUSE (see exclusive trailer below the jump and in the homepage rotator), written and directed by Darin Scott (producer of TALES FROM THE HOOD, THE OFFSPRING, STEPFATHER II) and starring horror vet Jeffrey Combs of RE-ANIMATOR fame. We previously debuted the art and specs for the DARK HOUSE DVD here.

As you probably know by now, Corey Feldman is back as Edgar Frog in LOST BOYS: THE THIRST, the second sequel to Joel Schumacher’s 1987 film. The actor recently spoke about shooting THE TRIBE and its follow-up, and chimed in on Jamison Newlander’s involvement as well as how THE THIRST pays tribute to the late Corey Haim.

Considering his connection with the FINAL DESTINATION films, it’s only appropriate that David R. Ellis (who helmed FINAL DESTINATION 2 and THE FINAL DESTINATION) is now attached to direct BAD LUCK.

The much praised “horror doc” CROPSEY is currently in the throes of its run at New York City’s IFC Center and expanding further across the country this coming weekend. Co-director Joshua Zeman recently spoke to Fango about the film and its long road to completion. Check out the third part of the video interview (see the first and second here and here) and find out when you can see it after the jump!

Of the many comic-book characters to have started on the path to the big screen, the hero of DC/Vertigo’s PREACHER has probably taken the most torturous path. Over the last decade, directors ranging from ROAD TO PERDITION’s Sam Mendes to FREDDY’S DEAD’s Rachel Talalay and actors like Dougray Scott and James Marsden have been attached to PREACHER features, and Howard Deutch was once set to direct a series pilot for HBO. Now, yet another filmmaker is eyeing the project.

A while back, it was announced that producer Edward R. Pressman (pictured) would be revisiting his previous hit THE CROW, rebooting the supernatural-revenge franchise with a new origin film. This morning he shared a few thoughts on the project, which will be directed by Stephen Norrington of BLADE and THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN.

The 2010 New York Asian Film Festival, which runs June 25-July 8, just posted its schedule, which includes a number of promising and outrageous horror and creature features. There’s also a new trailer that condenses some of the fest highlights, and you can see it after the jump.

THE X FILES/30 DAYS OF NIGHT is a topnotch crossover event between two popular franchises this writer never would have thought possible. This is a stylish showdown between the two iconic paranormal investigators from the modern-classic TV sseries and the parasitic vampires of Steve Niles and Ben Templesmith’s creation.
