HEROES and STAR TREK actor Zachary Quinto is heading into horror territory as a producer, with his Before the Door Pictures, on THE BANSHEE CHAPTER, which Sunchaser Entertainment and German producer Christian Arnold-Beutel are also behind.

Interactive media creator Blair Erickson (whose credits include a live-action TERMINATOR on-line project) scripted and makes his feature directorial debut on BANSHEE CHAPTER, in which a young female journalist investigates a missing friend who had been experimenting with mind-altering, government-created drugs. The movie is said to be based on actual records and testimony regarding secret drug-test programs run by the CIA. “We are excited to branch out in our storytelling,” Quinto says. “We’ve produced a movie about the financial crash [the upcoming MARGIN CALL] and an innovative, grounded romantic comedy [PERIODS]. THE BANSHEE CHAPTER is an opportunity for us to tackle another film with its roots in reality, but through the lens of horror.” BANSHEE CHAPTER beings shooting later this month in New Mexico; Before the Door’s graphic-novel collaborations with Archaia, LUCID and MR. MURDER IS DEAD, premiered at last month’s San Diego Comic-Con and will be widely available October 11. Arnold-Beutel’s recent films include the just-released IRONCLAD and this month’s Anchor Bay disc title SUPER HYBRID.
