David R. Ellis’ fish flick is being released by Relativity
on September 2, and now it has an MPAA rating. Prepare to groan after the
jump...
Arrow in the Head reports that the MPAA has rated the film PG-13 for violence and terror, disturbing images, sexual references, partial nudity, language and thematic material.
Listen, the best shark film of all time, JAWS, was given a PG by the MPAA back in 1975, so blood and guts does not a great shark film make. But when the title of your film is SHARK NIGHT 3D and centers on a group of young friends partying at a lake house in the Louisiana Gulf who are attacked by the aforementioned predators, don’t you want some R-rated sanguinary cinema with a copious amount of carnage?
Anyway, you can click here to see the SHARK NIGHT 3D poster, and here to watch the first trailer.
