Over at Los Angeles’ American Film Market, Fango’s Tony Timpone found out that THE HOWLING: REBORN, the werewolf franchise reboot that lensed earlier this year in Montreal, has been picked up for U.S. release. Find out who’s got it after the jump.

Tony reports that Anchor Bay Entertainment has acquired THE HOWLING: REBORN, with a commitment for theatrical release next year. Produced by Moonstone Entertainment (the folks behind the TOOLBOX MURDERS remake) and written and directed by Joe Nimziki, the new lycanthropicture sports a good-looking young cast (natch) and practical werewolf FX by Fango fave Adrien Morot. Here’s the synopsis: “On the eve of his high school graduation, unremarkable Will Kidman finally bonds with the girl he has long yearned for, reclusive Eliana Wynter. But he also discovers a dark secret from his past…that he is about to become a werewolf. Now, in an effort to fight destiny and save their love as well as their lives, they must battle not only Will’s growing blood lust but an army of fearsome beasts bent on killing them…and then, us all.” We’ll bring you more details on the movie’s release as we get ’em.
