The sounds of award-winning composer Jesper Kyd (who’s most well known around the world for his contributions to mega game franchises HITMAN and ASSASSIN’S CREED), return this August alongside DARKSIDERS II. FANGORIA spoke to Kyd on how he began composing in the video game industry, his inspirations on DARKSIDERS II and his involvement with director Cameron Romero, son of the legendary George A. Romero.

Developer and publisher Capcom knew what it needed to accomplish with DRAGON'S DOGMA. That is, they wanted this new title to be considered the best RPG around, either toppling THE ELDER SCROLLS: SKYRIM from its comfortable perch with a better overall game, or at least, offer something special which SKYRIM does not. DRAGON'S DOGMA manages to succeed (to a degree), and while most will still consider SKYRIM the king, its new aspects make this new arrival one of the best next gen console RPGs currently available.

It looks like the inmates are taking over The Asylum, as visual FX supervisor Joe Lawson is given the opportunity to helm his first feature-length film, NAZIS AT THE CENTER OF THE EARTH. The company seems to thrive on negative attention, and in making a film which features a ghoulish Dr. Joseph Mengele (played convincingly by Christopher Karl Johnson) looking to unlock the secrets of genetic regeneration to bring on the Fourth Reich they’ve certainly gotten it heaped on them. The question is, do they deserve it?

In a shooter market currently dominated by CALL OF DUTY and BATTLEFIELD, publisher and developer Ubisoft have managed to stand the test of time and maintain a solid fan base throughout the years. TOM CLANCY'S GHOST: RECON FUTURE SOLDIER continues the tradition on Playstationg 3, Xbox 360 and PC.  

One of the interesting developments in the online indie world has been crowdfunding – basically going out to the global audience of the internet and making a pitch for their money to fund your project. Two real leaders have emerged in this arena, Kickstarter and IndieGoGo and both deliver some really cool options for helping filmmakers (and other projects) get their work funded and completed.

Nearly 12 years later, DIABLO III is finally here.

In Blizzard Entertainment's latest and highly anticipated sequel of the PC and Mac exclusive series, a lot of things have changed while still managing to keep the core gameplay intact. DIABLO was a true originator of its subgenre of fantasy adventures, and DIABLO III is yet another flawless venture; a perfect example of Blizzard's mastery of all things RPG.
