“And we’re back…”

First, introductions are in order. I, Kevin Bocarde, am a lifelong Fango reader (hell, I got my first subscription to Fango at 15). Besides being a huge horror fan, I have been lucky enough to co-write the script for CHROMESKULL: LAID 2 REST with the awesome Robert Hall. Robert is running around directing like a madman, thankfully without bladed weapons—well, actually, there were some on day one, so I’m here to give you the skinny on what’s happening in the world of Chromeskull.

Day One: So happy to be shooting. We’ve really put together a great cast and crew. Besides being a great guy, Brian Austin Green just nailed the shit out his stuff. All I have to say is: intense. Thomas Dekker returns as Tommy, and as usual he blows me away. It seems like it just comes so naturally for him, and he can turn it on and deliver the goods as soon as Rob yells “Action.” Also, the fact that he’s a huge horror fan makes him great to have on set. Anyone who loves PRINCE OF DARKNESS is all right in my book.

Crew rocks today. First day of the shoot and everyone is on their game. Amanda, our DP, was the gaffer on LIGHTNING BUG, which Rob directed and I produced. It’s like working with family, though she may stab me if I keep up the sarcasm.

And in case you were concerned, yes, there was blood today. Lots. Bodies, knives and blood. Just another day on a LAID TO REST shoot. More deaths than the first one, and all of these will be just as wonderfully nasty. Rob’s got some crazy things planned. I think about 15-year-old me, reading Fango, watching a movie with kills like these, and I know I would go insane.

We ran a little long tonight, so I’ll just let you know I’ll give you another update next week, and it won’t be for just one day—it will be a whole week of killing. And just to prove the old adage “You can’t keep a good man down,” here’s the very first look at Chromeskull back in action!
