Japanese bad-boy filmmaker Yoshihiro Nishimura and
AUDITION bad girl Eihi Shiina
first collaborated on TOKYO GORE POLICE a few years back, and now they’re
together again with the equally splattery HELLDRIVER, out today on DVD and
Blu-ray/DVD combo pack. Fango’s Michael Gingold sat down with the duo at New York City's Japan Society for an
exclusive video chat (shot by Heather Buckley and edited by Bill Hall) that you
can see after the jump.
In HELLDRIVER, a Sushi Typhoon production being released by Well Go USA, Japan has been overrun by the living dead, and a young girl named Kika (Yumiko Hara), possessing an artificial heart and a chainsaw sword, takes on the ghouls—including the zombie queen Rikka (Shiina), who’s also her own mother. Click here for all the details on the discs, and see Fango #308 (on sale now) for more words with Shiina. (Thanks to Marc Walkow, Grady Hendrix and Chisato Uno.)
