This Friday, the highly anticipated KICK-ASS hits screens, and audiences everywhere will be able to see all of its much buzzed about foul mouthed gory glory and the amazing return of Nicolas Cage. To get you even more excited (as if you weren’t already), we’ve got an exclusive video interview with the film’s three young stars. Read on to check it out!
Directed by Matthew Vaughn (LAYER CAKE, STARDUST) and co-written by Vaughn and Jane Goldman, KICK-ASS adapts Mark Millar’s acclaimed, yet still infant comic series of the same name. The story follows dorky New York teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), who asks himself why no one’s really ever tried to be a superhero. Suiting up in a green and yellow ensemble, he takes on the name Kick-Ass and soon discovers fighting crime is a painful endeavor. As he becomes a phenomenon, Kick-Ass learns he’s not alone, meeting the father/daughter superhero duo Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage) and Hit Girl (LET ME IN’s Chloe Grace Moretz), as well as Red Mist (SUPERBAD’S Christopher Mintz-Plasse). The crime fighters together take on the criminal empire of Mafia boss Frank D’Amico (SHERLOCK HOLMES’ Mark Strong).
FANGORIA’s Tony Timpone sat with Johnson, Moretz and Mintz-Plasse to discuss the film and all that comes with it. Enjoy!
