It’s how director Sxv’Leithan Essex describes GROWL, which has begun shooting in Los Angeles and stars BATTLESTAR GALACTICA’s Katee Sackhoff. The first pictures have hit the web, and you can check them out after the jump. But let’s get something straight… The first rule of GROWL Club is: You do not talk about GROWL Club. The second rule of GROWL Club is: You DO NOT talk about GROWL Club. And the third and final rule is… Awww, forget it! Just take a peek at the pix!

The initial details have been revealed for the multiple disc releases of George A. Romero’s SURVIVAL OF THE DEAD. The latest in his zombie saga arrives on single DVD, a two-DVD Ultimate Undead Edition and Blu-ray August 24 from Magnolia Home Entertainment under the Magnet Releasing banner.

“Don’t make it look like PULSE” was the mission statement behind SOMEONE’S KNOCKING AT THE DOOR, according to actor/producer Noah Segan on Vicious Circle’s new DVD. And they certainly succeeded at that; KNOCKING has nothing in common with either Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s brooding supernatural drama or the terrible U.S. remake, though it does echo certain recent, more outrageous J-horror entries in its scenes of grotesquely distended genitalia.

The first thing you need to know about CORNERED! is that Steve Guttenberg is in it. Good or bad, original or bland, funny or not—that’ll sort itself out later, but since you probably haven’t seen the Goot in anything in a long time, and now his curly head of hair is back in this horror/comedy, you’ll probably want to see it…at least, that was my thought process when presented with Phase 4’s new DVD.

Earlier today, we told you that Terror in the Aisles is at it again with another great night of horror cinema including a killer kids triple feature featuring Larry Cohen in person to discuss IT'S ALIVE. Well, if you live in the Chicago area or are willing to make a trip, Fango has four pairs of tickets to giveaway, read on for the details!

Spanish horror legend Paul Naschy’s EMPUSA, one of the final fright films he starred in (and the last one he wrote and directed under his real name, Jacinto Molina) is finally complete and hitting the sales markets. Naschy, who died last November, began production on EMPUSA in 2007, taking over the reins from its original helmer, longtime collaborator Carlos Aured.

Antidote Films Inc. and writer/director Carl Paolino, the people behind the upcoming biohazard horror opus THE SICKNESS, got in touch with word about their next feature. Titled VIRGIN FALLS, it’s set to roll this fall, and locations are currently being scouted in the Albany/Hudson Valley area.

Britain’s Vertigo Films and the National Film and Television School have joined forces to create the Vertigo School Project, designed to allow NFTS students and graduates to create microbudget (about $165,000) features. The first of these, a horror project called GUINEA PIGS, just started shooting today.

REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA co-mastermind Terrance Zdunich has just unleashed a novel new way to promote his self-published, cockroach-littered pulp horror/drama comic THE MOLTING. He’s offering a self-described “Bob Ross meets Ted Bundy” video art tutorial on-line!

Horror and science fiction auteur Larry Cohen is well-known for incorporating social and political polemics in his enjoyably gritty grindhouse features, and he’ll be discussing them when he appears on Friday, June 11 at Chicago’s Terror in the Aisles 5. This Killer Children Triple Feature will include Cohen’s 1974 cult fave IT’S ALIVE.

The fourth film in the RESIDENT EVIL franchise is being shot in 3-D, and this one-sheet features the series’ star Milla Jovovich.

Shunji Iwai—the writer/director who has earned a reputation for films focusing on teen angst and uncertainty—is taking on a much darker and horror-oriented project, VAMPIRE. Take a look at the first photo from the film and find out what it’s all about.
