Glass Eye Pix, the New York-area horror factory run by independent filmmaker Larry Fessenden (pictured), has been busier than ever these days, with four features in a coproduction deal with Dark Sky Films wrapped and being readied for release, and SATAN HATES YOU, a collaboration with MonsterPants, just premiered and about to hit the festival circuit. As if all this big-screen activity wasn’t enough, Fango got the scoop that Glass Eye will be terrorizing the audiosphere via an on-line series called TALES FROM BEYOND THE PALE.

We’re only days away from TRUE BLOOD’s premiere, and actor Ryan Kwanten—who plays Sookie’s older brother and Bon Temps’ resident ladies man Jason Stackhouse—had some things to say about his character and the upcoming season.

It was previously announced that the horror film STRIPPED was going to be directed by John Wildman (from a script by Wildman and Justina Walford), and that THE VIOLENT KIND’s Tiffany Shepis and Samrat Chakrabarti are in the cast. Today, Wildman revealed that a well-known adult film actress is now on board.

Centipede Press, the literary purveyor of all tales weird, extreme and horrific, has announced new and expanded editions of several of their classic books.

THE WOLFMAN had a lot of hype (as well as a lot of drama behind-the-scenes), but its critical reception was mixed at best, and it didn’t exactly roar at the box office, pulling in a little over $60 million domestically and $139 million worldwide. Special FX guru Rick Baker did the makeup on the film, and recently gave his thoughts on THE WOLFMAN and practical vs. visual FX, as well as revealed the next big project on his calendar.

FANGORIA’s FrightFest (see previous item here and go to www.fangoriafrightfest.com for more details) is nearing its summer debut, and one of the films yearning for your votes to win a theatrical release in the on-line sweepstakes is the atmospheric Spanish spookfest THE HAUNTING, written and directed by award-winning filmmaker Elio Quiroga. See the exclusive DVD art below the jump!

Acclaimed, Oscar-winning Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar is getting ready to roll LA PIEL QUE HABITO (THE SKIN I LIVE IN), his long-planned first venture into dark thriller territory since 1986’s MATADOR. He originally envisioned the female starring role for longtime collaborator Penelope Cruz, but now the project has a new leading lady, one with some genre experience.

Peter Straub has been published since the early ’70s, with 17 novels to his credit as well as novellas, collections, poetry and edited works. Still, only two movies have been made of his books, the last being 1981’s GHOST STORY. But that number looks like it might increase by one, as a 3-D adaptation of his 1980 supernatural novel SHADOWLAND is in the works.

In the News Not Necessarily Worth Reporting Dept., a movie that recently turned up on this summer’s release schedule as UNTITLED VAMPIRE SPOOF now has a title. And it’s about what one would expect from the folks who brought us such deathless modern-comedy classics as MEET THE SPARTANS, DISASTER MOVIE and EPIC MOVIE.

The remake of FRIGHT NIGHT has begun to take a much clearer shape this week with the revealing details of its Las Vegas setting and Criss Angel inspiration for the modern Peter Vincent. Now, that character and the infamous Evil Ed have been cast, check out who's playing them below!

Breaking the alternating game of James Wong and David R. Ellis on the FINAL DESTINATION movies, New Line has recruited an outsider to the series to take the reins of the fifth installment, which will be the franchise’s second (after last year’s THE FINAL DESTINATION) in 3-D.

The cast of THE DARKEST HOUR, the $40-million science-fiction thriller that rolls this summer in Moscow (and which we previously reported on here), is being filled out, with a new addition just announced to the ensemble that already includes Emile Hirsch and Olivia Thirlby.
