Anchor Bay Entertainment just announced the DVD and Blu-ray releases of AFTER.LIFE. The debut feature by director/co-writer Agnieszka Wojtowicz-Vosloo stars Christina Ricci as a troubled young woman who wakes up on the slab of mortician Liam Neeson, and tries to determine whether she’s actually dead or his prisoner.

The discs, which street August 3, will present the film in 16x9-enhanced 2.40:1 widescreen, with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound on both plus PCM 5.1 sound on the Blu-ray. The bonus features are:

• Audio commentary by Wojtowicz-Vosloo

• “Delving Into the AFTER.LIFE: The Art of Making a Thriller” featurette

• Theatrical trailer

IFC Films and MPI Media Group will release THE UNINVITED July 27. No relation to the TALE OF TWO SISTERS remake from last year, writer/director Bob Badway’s movie stars Marguerite Moreau as a recovering agoraphobic whose old fears come back to haunt her in a big way; MPI let us know that the movie will be accompanied by a filmmaker commentary and the trailer. Retail price is $24.98.

• Also on July 27, Full Moon issues PUPPET MASTER: AXIS OF EVIL, the 10th in the popular Charles Band-produced franchise, directed by David DeCoteau. Like DeCoteau’s PUPPET MASTER III, this one goes back to WWII, when killer-toymaker Andre Toulon is alive and active, and focuses on an American soldier who stumbles upon a trunk of the little terrors and tries to use them to combat an enemy platoon. The sequel will be available on DVD and Blu-ray with anamorphic widescreen transfers and Dolby Digital 5.1 sound, plus making-of featurettes, bonus footage and trailers. Retail price is $19.99 for the DVD, $29.99 for the Blu-ray; there are also limited-edition “trunk collectors case” editions, containing both AXIS OF EVIL and the remastered original PUPPET MASTER (also available separately on the 27th) on either DVD or Blu-ray, plus a poster, trading cards and more, for $49.95 and $69.95 respectively, available via Full Moon Direct.

• In addition to the July 6 release of DEVIL’S GROVE (see art and details here), Elite Entertainment and Hannover House gave Fango the scoop that they're teaming for more fright titles this year. As on GROVE, they’ve joined forces with The New York City Horror Film Festival to put together KILLER SHORTS, a collection of the best minimovies from past fests, due out in September. Also on the way are a pair of features from director Andy Davis. “2”, in which a lone man and woman struggle to survive in a wintry landscape overrun by the living dead, will street in August, with special features including behind-the-scenes material and a photo gallery. Following in October will be ADELLE, a period chiller following a young deaf girl who’s abandoned by her parents and goes on a nightmarish journey among assorted bizarre characters. • The next international treat from the folks at Mondo Macabro is LORNA THE EXORCIST, slinking onto DVD June 29. This 1974 Jess Franco opus is set in the south of France, where a wealthy businessman takes his wife and just-turned-18 daughter for a vacation. There, he encounters the titular beauty, who first helped him toward success 20 years before—and now wants his daughter’s soul in return. The anamorphic widescreen transfer from the original negative, with soundtracks in English and French (with optional subtitles), will be supplemented by a Franco documentary and an extensive photo and poster gallery. Retail price is $29.95.

Wolfe Video will bring PORNOGRAPHY: A THRILLER to DVD July 13. Written and directed by David Kittredge and produced by Fangoria.com blogger Sean Abley, the movie tracks the investigation by two different characters into the disappearance of a gay adult-film star, which leads them down some frightening avenues. The movie will be presented in anamorphic widescreen with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound; the extras are:

• Audio commentary

• 10 deleted/extended scenes

• Behind-the-scenes featurette

• Trailer
