The Midnight Syndicate group, who have been responsible for plenty of scary music over the past decade, are preparing to unleash their first feature film, THE DEAD MATTER, this summer. They just sent along word of a special three-disc set that’ll be available exclusively at Hot Topic stores, along with cover art and a new trailer.

The specially priced Hot Topic set, which goes on sale July 30, will consist of the DEAD MATTER special-edition DVD along with a pair of CDs: the movie’s soundtrack, featuring the score by director Edward Douglas, remixes of other Midnight Syndicate tracks and songs by the likes of Lazy Lane, HipNostic and Eternal Legacy; and a 13th-anniversary disc titled HALLOWEEN MUSIC COLLECTION, featuring over an hour of the Syndicate’s best material hand-picked by Douglas and Gavin Godzka. The CDs will also be available separately at Halloween stores starting in August.

THE DEAD MATTER, co-produced by Robert Kurtzman's Precinct 13 Entertainment, stars Sean Serino as a young woman whose attempts to contact her dead brother leads her into possession of an ancient relic that can control the dead, and which is coveted by warring vampire lords portrayed by genre faves Tom Savini and Andrew Divoff; BABYLON 5's Jason Carter plays a slayer of the undead.
