The Ultimate Secret. The Ultimate Agent. The President’s Vampire. OK, did you laugh? Well, we’re being serious. Christopher Farnsworth’s novel BLOOD OATH was just released today and—surprise! surprise!—it has also been announced that it’s being adapted into a film.
According to Total Film, BLOOD OATH will be produced by Lucas Foster, whose sole genre credit is JEEPER CREEPERS 2. Foster’s recent pictures include LAW ABIDING CITIZEN, STREET KINGS and JUMPER.
BLOOD OATH is the first in a series featuring the adventures of Nathaniel Cade, a man who was turned into a vampire in 1867, convicted of murder and sentenced to be executed until President Andrew Johnson secretly pardoned Cade and made him take a blood oath that obligates him to protect the President from supernatural threats. Now, in present day, Cade and his new partner—the cocky, young White House staffer Zach Barrows—attempt to stop a diabolical plan involving an army of Frankenstein monster soldiers.
You can read Fango’s BLOOD OATH book review in the new June #294 issue, which you can pick up at your local bookstore and newsstand.
