A six-meter tall silverback looms over this mesmerizing-sounding production of KING KONG.

Recreating cinema's eighth wonder of the world on stage seems no small feat. Even just watching the behind-the-scenes glimpses of all that's gone into this upcoming musical adaptation of KING KONG is a bit astounding. Most so, being designer Sonny Tilder's (the lauded WALKING WITH DINOSAURS exhibit) Kong and the team of puppeteers that bring him to life (led by puppetry director Peter Wilson). Kong looks incredible in the latest ad, that simply reveals his face, but the real magic is in one of the many videos detailing the production's development, which reveals concept art, the evolution and manipulation of the creature.

Then, there's composer Marius de Vries (Music Director, MOULIN ROUGE), who's brought together a serious lineup of artists including electronic heroes Justice and The Avalanches, as well as Sarah McLachlan for recreations of classic tunes and brand new pieces.

KING KONG begins previews at the Regent Theatre in Melbourne May 28, while officially premiering mid-June. Below, find the Kong-revealing clip, as well as the puppetry behind-the-scenes videos and an original song from the production. You can find tickets and much more at KING KONG Live On Stage
